Timothy Rakarich
Many moons ago I worked in the Advertising business in Chicago. Life happened and I decided to seize another line of work to make ends meet. Outside of the occasional doodle while talking on the phone I turned my back on creating art for 15 years. That is until I turned 40.
When I hit mid-life, my “crisis” wasn’t for any material items to prove I made it in life, instead I wondered if I could still draw. I decided to give it a try and discovered classes in the back of a local frame shop. After the first class I realized something... I miss painting terribly. This is what I should be doing. I became consumed with trying to make up for 15 years missed. With each painting I push myself into new artistic challenges.
Not satisfied with the hobbyist aspect I wanted to really learn how to up my game. This lead me to the Academy of Realist Art Boston. It was here that I learned from professional working artists in the realism style of 19th century French Ateliers.
A fire now burns in my belly to see how far I can push myself.
